I came to CranioSacral Therapy first as a client. Suffering for over twenty years with depression and chronic pain, mostly in my neck, I was lost, hopeless, and desperate. In my search for relief and answers, I had been to all kinds of doctors, chiropractors, and therapists, had too many X-rays, MRIs, and other tests, and I took countless pills. But it was all to no avail. I was at the bottom and had basically given up on life.

But as fate would have it, in 2007, while living in a small town on an island in Alaska, I was referred to a physical therapist who happened to be a very talented craniosacral therapist. And within weeks, I was pain-free and unbelievably happy, even blissful. And I never looked back.

(The full story of my healing journey can be found in my book, “A Gentler Path,” which may be found elsewhere on this site).

I was so impressed with the work that I abandoned my career in conventional medicine and began training to become a CST later that year. By 2010, I was certified at advanced level 1. I have also dabbled in Reiki and Healing Touch, and am a certified HeartMath coach/mentor, and though I don’t use any of those modalities in isolation, I am certain they influence what I do in some way.

Turning Grief Into Growth

In 2021, my wife of 26 years was diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer. I closed shop to care for her, which I did for 31 months until her passing in January of 2024. After enduring a year and a half of disabling grief, I am happy to say I am back and better than ever. There was something about losing her and the grief process that has made me a more loving and compassionate man, and I feel that has only amplified what I do. I am forever grateful for her love and that experience.

Thank you for reading.
